Renaming of things
My little one was late to speak. We think she was saving it all up for later, you know, that time right before bedtime when you’re so tired you can’t think straight and the kids want to tell you a crazy detailed story about a spider that can swim with it’s best friend the snake. That time. Yeah, she saved it all up.
But until she got to the spider story, she said few things. So what she did say, we didn’t correct. Below are a few of the Bean-isms. Just so you know, these have all now been added to our internal spell checker’s as correct. Get your bowl of rice & spicy and sit back and prepare to replace your phrases, with Beans.
Spicy – Soy sauce. Kikkoman, to be exact. Once Jason told her that she couldn’t have the soy sauce because it was “spicy”. She responded, “I like spicy!”
Squeezers – Scissors. Makes sense, right?
Flug Flail – A slug and/or snail. However to her, they are the same. One has a shell, the other doesn’t.
Dino Bones – Kids YouTube. Chase (she is his BIGGEST fan) did some kind of episode about dinosaur bones, and they were saying “dino bones”. She thought that the app was Dino Bones, and now asks to watch it.
Dis Side – Breast feeding. She pointed and said, Dis Side.
Junkasaur – any large dinosaur that looks somewhat like, but not exactly like, either a T-Rex or a velociraptor.
Popcorn – this is any corn. Notably, corn on the cob. Popcorn itself is just “corn”.
Cinderella – Whitney Houston. No kidding. This kid can belt out “I Have Nothing” like she’s trying out for America’s Got Talent.
