Hair Ate My Life.
Hi everyone…I’ve been pretty absent these past few months. The reason is that for my midlife crisis, I’ve chosen to change professions and go back to school. Not too bad a crisis, honestly – and way more pay off down the road.
I initially started out at one establishment, but when a different opportunity presented itself, I shifted over and enrolled at The Salon Professional Academy in Washington D.C.
It is a new establishment, opened in January 2017. Our classes will be the first to graduate from here, so the pressure is on. Being a Redken based salon, we use those products, and as such, subscribes to the theory that we start our day, every day, with something called “Energy”. Energy (with a capital E) is where we all get together, get pumped up and dance. Something a morning scrooge like me had to make a concerted effort to participated in. I do now, and my biggest concern is what dance moves I’m going to use, if I go up to lead the class. It’s amazing what a positive group mentality can do to help guide your frame of thinking.
Over the course of the past few months, I’ve learned a lot, worked hard, and am now accepting clients out on the floor. My site here will have yet another section, specifically designated to my hair trials and tribulations. LOL – that sounds like a book. Hair Trials & Tribulations, YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE ROOTS!
At any rate, I have a few more posts on the way, some hair, some food (not mixed up, ew gross, hack cough gag), and some ranting about the state of being of our culture.
Thanks for sticking with me.
